Another unlikely path
In the early '80s I diverted myself from Grad School by working part-time at the old Mills Bookstore in Nashville, a marvelous old-school family-owned indepenent bookseller that had been a community mainstay for decades. It's long gone now, but I was transported straight back in time Saturday night when we wandered into Parnassus and found the newest effort from my old Mills colleague Michael Sims, his take on young Henry Thoreau (the boy and man, not the icon). Proudly paid full freight, to continue following an "unlikely path."
